'Jared Lee Loughner is a hero'
01/09/11, 17:15 What about the nine year-old kid? How does she fit into this? Oh yeah, she was probably a filthy Mexican so that makes him a double hero or something |

Introduction; Jared Loughner
01/08/11, 17:38 I used to do my weekly shopping at that fucking Safeway--lived right across the street. Arizona is the most fucked up, politically, of any state I've lived in. |

Two-year-old pageant girl strips down to a cone bra
01/08/11, 12:59 because of course it's impossible that anyone else would see this video and make that same conclusion. trust me, your ideas aren't as one-of-a-kind as you think they are |

Gran Torino - Clint's Racisms
01/06/11, 21:45 it took me a while to get over my first "what the fuck?" reaction. Eastwood is normally such a po-faced, Serious Filmmaker that I wasn't able to grasp the parodic nature of this one right away. |

Stroke Guy Reviews Revenge of the Sith
01/06/11, 13:29 What makes this even more depressing is that Lucas used to have real visual talent--he started out in avantgarde film and THX 1138, despite its many problems, is easily one of the most visually impressive films I've ever seen. |

Terry Gilliam explains the films of Roland Emmerich to a typical fan
12/26/10, 20:11 Gilliam is not a good director. People like him because he maintains that outsider image, but his films are overly dense "magical" wankfests with zero sense of pacing. |

Chris Hedges - How Corporations Destroyed American Democracy
12/26/10, 20:00 No, it's just that compared to his other writings, Hedges is playing things up a bit |

Terry Gilliam criticizes Spielberg and Schindler's List
12/25/10, 23:11 I think it's a case of hating on someone for what they inspired--like hating Nirvana because they helped to create Candlebox and Seven Mary Three and whatever.
As for Schindler's List, I think it's technically brilliant enough to overcome any flaws there are in the script (and their are a few--the "group hug" scene near the end is especially unforgivable). I don't see why it's somehow off-limits to make a film about the Holocaust that has a "positive" message. The film also focuses a lot on the technicals of the Final Solution--signing papers, work orders, etc.--which is a very valuable way of showing that the Holocaust was as much an act of bureaucracy as it was of unmitigated evil. Most films about the topic don't show that. |
