HANK AND ROBBY PRESENT: BRONYCON 2012: 'HOOFWERKIN''
07/12/12, 11:18

And, of course, we zoom in and out on the black guy wearing a Dolph Ziggler T-shirt.
Frank Sinatra & Dinah Shore : From ' Dinah's Place TV Show ' Sept. 09th, 1970 - Excerpt P. 1
07/11/12, 18:55

Dinah's Place was a 1970-74 NBC daytime series. This may have been a first-week episode:

The main problem with a seventies-era talk/variety show channel is wiping - Dinah!, being a syndicated show, might be easier to find, but networks tended to tape over shows to save money. I understand why networks did this, at the time - recording machines and broadcast-quality videotapes were expensive.

The networks also felt daytime/late-night programming was not worth archiving. Even if a complete run of Dinah's Place exists, the rights owners might not think there's enough of a market for it, and/or that it's not worth dealing with various union issues that might arise. It sucks, but those are the realities of commercial television.
Match Game - Dawson Meltdown
07/09/12, 22:03

That was from the video itself. I couldn't think of a title that wasn't 'Richard Dawson being Richard Dawson.'
A Generation's fondest memory of Ernest Borgnine
07/09/12, 01:14

Sadly, I remember Borgnine from The Single Guy. Even Borgnine could not make Jonathan Silverman funnier, or more interesting.

I hate that I even remember The Single Guy.
The Super Friends - The Colossus
07/05/12, 07:47

Superfriends has lax standards, and this strains credulity worse than most Superfriends episodes.
Cinderella 2000 - trailer
07/04/12, 20:19

I actually saw this trailer on the Mean Mother DVD.

Once you realize this is one of Al Adamson's cinematic bandwagon jumps, the trailer makes more sense.
Family Guy calls the kettle black
06/29/12, 09:13

SPK: MacFarlane did an animated sketch comedy "show." It was Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy. It made Family Guy look like Westinghouse Studio One. Somehow, MacFarlane convinced Burger King to throw money at Family Guy cutaway gags.

You can't win either way.
James Doohan shills Star Trek Collector's Plates

...and yet, he still did Homeboys in Outer Space, until Paramount got pissy and told him not to.
Batman, The Movie 1966

Adam West is most famous for playing Adam West. His limited range will linger a hundred years after we're all dead.
Password Plus: George Peppard's Rant
06/25/12, 19:41

Fred Silverman bashing: one of 1980's unsung mini-trends.
Science: It's a Girl Thing!
06/24/12, 13:11

This campaign doesn't go far enough. There needs to be an economics commercial where women roll around in a pile of money, while a financial growth chart pulsates to trashy Eurodance.
Piggsburg Pigs Intro
06/19/12, 20:21

From the Fox Kids Wikipedia:

"In 1988, Disney purchased Los Angeles television station KHJ-TV, later renaming it as KCAL-TV. The station's new owners wanted DuckTales to be shown on KCAL, thus taking it away from Fox-owned KTTV. Furious at the breach of contract, Diller pulled DuckTales from all other Fox owned-and-operated stations in the fall of 1989. Diller also encouraged Fox affiliates to do the same, though most did not initially. As Disney went forward in building the Disney Afternoon, Fox then began preparing its own children's programming system."

So, Piggsburg Pigs! was essentially on Fox Kids to spite Disney? Makes sense.
Fear Factor's Donkey Semen and Urine Challenge

Actually, this is The Netherlands' contribution to world culture. America just rubbed out that little something extra.
all my picts that i think are good 4 me that is

No wonder that brown thing is bleeding. Someone slashed it with a speech balloon, jammed that balloon into its spine, and watched as the brown thing floated away.
Franklin - Toy Dog and Rabbit on a Train
06/02/12, 11:11

Yeah. Sneaking shit into boring preschool shows is likely second nature to them.
Mark Russell Special #1205 (1987) Part 1/3
05/27/12, 22:52

The ironic thing about that Simpsons reference? Harry Shearer's political humour is almost as painful as Mark Russell's. It's 2012, and he's still doing Richard Nixon impressions - hell, he even sold a Nixon-centric special to Sky, as the concept's too 'subtle' for American audiences.
Ocho Inoshika is interrupted during a bath
05/24/12, 20:39

There is a distinct lack of Reiko Ike on poeTV, which I find disheartening.
Robin and the Dreamweavers promo
05/24/12, 17:17

If this is your big return to animation, Lou Scheimer, it would help if you didn't reuse the executive producer credit from He-Man.

Also, it would help if you didn't make someone's fever dream look like Animaniacs.
Ozzy and Drix - intro
05/23/12, 13:11

I thought Static Shock sucked, but at least the source material attempted to be better than usual, as superheroes went. Osmosis Jones was just a vehicle for Chris Rock to play the minstrel show version of himself.
Getting Away with Murder trailer (1996)
05/22/12, 19:17

That's the reason I submitted the video. The film is the most boring vigilante comedy one could feasibly make.

Savoy Pictures was a crapshoot. Sometimes, Savoy was involved, either as a distributor or production company, in films like Serial Mom, American History X, and A Bronx Tale. Most of the time, it was stuff like this. Hell, I only remember Savoy Pictures for its production logo.
