Ever Seen an Eagle Swim?
04/11/12, 19:54

Eagles are freakin' huge, no matter where you're from.

TEDxGlasgow - Gary Wilson - The Great Porn Experiment
04/07/12, 23:03

I used to like watching TED talks but the quality has become diluted - for every still halfway decent presentation you get like two or three dickheads going on and on in academic jargon and buzzwords about not much in particular, usually some sort of vague message about needing to solve some vague problems that trouble our modern society.
Data reprimands Worf
04/05/12, 22:20

Thinks he's such a big deal just because he's a VAPID JOCK who plays sports games...well an intellectual like me has no need to sully themselves with anything as base as, ugh, physical activity.
So the Total Recal remake trailer is out.
04/03/12, 15:33

Will suffer in comparison to the original due to it's total lack of Michael Ironside.
Seth Macfarlane's Ted (2012)
04/02/12, 15:28

In a better world, Family Guy would have stayed cancelled back in 2000 and rightfully joined a bunch of other awful prime-time sitcoms in television's graveyard and been forgotten over time, slipping beneath the waters of well-deserved obscurity.

Sarah Donner & The Oatmeal - Pterodactyl
04/01/12, 10:25

Ha ha, no. The Oatmeal sucks.
somone gets shot on Miami Vice
03/31/12, 22:03

The show started to slide downhill sometime after they had Crocket stop using a Bren Ten 10mm and go with a Smith & Wesson.

Just sayin'
Recordings made by Alexander Graham Bell Heard for the First Time
03/29/12, 17:03

Among the early recordings: Bell making a call to Watson, asking him if a Haywood Jablome was there, then giggling like a little girl.

All of their little woodland friends are coming to help like in a Disney movie.
Tokyo Disneyland Anime Commercial
03/27/12, 20:05

Since this is a Madhouse production I'm surprised his face didn't split open to reveal a laser weapon with a shiny lens nestled in amongst cybertech, unleashing a blast at some grotesque beast leaping at them from out of nowhere or something like that.
Lupin the Third: The Woman Named Fujiko Mine teaser
03/27/12, 19:59

Looks interesting, and Lupin was one of the early series that attracted me during my period of slightly-greater-than-my-current-minimal interest in anime - especially Castle of Cogliostro, The Mystery of Mamo and The Fuma Conspiracy - Farewell, Nostradamus, Gold of Babylon and the rest of the films and specials and direct-to-videos I have found to be varying degrees of "eh" or "well, it was OK, I guess."
Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson on being turned into a meme
03/27/12, 13:56

I have nothing against the guy, but he does happen to be a favorite amongst that irritating species known as the Internet Athiest (for example, the sort of people who post in r/atheism) - i.e. angry nerds who consider themselves to be avatars of Reason and Science and express it through obnoxious meme-pics and weepy, soppy paens to science "o tis true, we are the stuff of starrrrs, sob sob" that often betray only the most shallow, dilletantish interest in science.

But I tend to be irritated by Internet (Fill in the Blank) anyway...

Electra Woman and Dyna Girl (2001)
03/24/12, 16:49

I was going say "compared to when" but TV was pretty awful at the turn of the century
Zima Commercial 1994
03/22/12, 15:24

Zima, providing joke fodder for many tedious stand-up comedy hacks for an ultra-brief period during the 1990s.
Fish Police - The Shell Game
03/21/12, 10:16

There were good comics produced during the B&W boom (and still worth seeking out) but the birdcage liner, the dross was what helped turn the boom into the inevitable bust - too many people who thought they'd be the next big thing with their college-study-hall-doodling level art and awkward storylines, too many dinky little here-today-gone-tomorrow publishers run by opportunists trying to ride the wake of whatever sort of comic was considered the hot new flavor of the month (TMNT knockoffs one week, sci-fi comics the next, maybe sword and sorcery afterwards, who knew what the week after that) and comic shop owners desparate not to miss out on what could be the next big thing over-ordering the junk and being left with piles of unsellable comics on their hands - and when the boom went bust creators, publishers and stores suffered, the innocent and the guilty alike.

Of course, nobody seemed to learn anything from the B&W bust or the 90's boom and bust or any of the other mini-booms and busts ('bad girls' comics, small-press comic character action figures, etc. etc.) since then.

And you know, I never read Fish Police but I've come across ads for it in comics from that era.

"time slot filler" could be a tag on many of these recent cartoon entries
Quack Pack intro
03/21/12, 09:51

I'm really glad I didn't watch any of these Disney Afternoon shows - though I wonder if any of these shows like Quack Pack had any crazy fans like the ones who obsessed over the other, somewhat more successful shows like Rescue Rangers and Talespin - you know, folks that made the sort of creepy, kooky websites that ended up as PoE exhibits.
