Costa Rica's University of Peace has a cat infestation
08/14/12, 03:47 ATTENTION STUDENTS: REMAIN CALM.
THERE IS A CAT IN THE VENTS. |

Birdemic: Shock and Terror
08/14/12, 03:45 You may as well skip to 50:40, because hardly anything that happens in the first half of the film has any bearing on what happens in the second half.
That said, if you skip the first half, YOU'LL MISS THE CLAPPING. |

Birdemic: Shock and Terror
08/14/12, 03:41 This film fucking amazes me. I hear it's got quite the cult following, but when I first saw it I knew nothing whatsoever about it. My friends and I picked it at random off of Netflix based on its amusing name.
We were not prepared. We were not prepared for the majesty. No one is. |

08/13/12, 21:16 Ceiling cat is watching you pontificate. |

I didn't count on being happy.
08/13/12, 17:09 "I can't put myself on the line as long as there's someone waiting for me to come home!"
Dude, Alfred's standing right there. |

I didn't count on being happy.
08/13/12, 17:07 This movie has aged astoundingly well. |

The 'Best' Moments of Batman Forever
08/13/12, 05:07 Shame on you, Tommy Lee Jones. All you do in this movie is laugh at Jim Carrey's stupid jokes. And he's not even that special! DeVito had rocket penguins. ROCKET PENGUINS. |

Megaman X4: Enter Double
08/12/12, 03:00 For fifty dollars, David Caruso will come to your house and say that while putting on sunglasses. For an additional ten he'll bring his boombox with a Who tape in it, and hit play at the appropriate moment. |

Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan: Back to the Failed Top-Down Policies
08/11/12, 22:52 I forget who it was, but I remember reading a column by a conservative pundit whose dad would take his family on trips, where they would just get in the car and drive through the richest neighborhood in town, looking at the houses. And dad would talk about how amazing the people who lived there were. He knew all of their names and what industry they got rich in, even though he had never met any of them. And he's always end the trip by saying how, one day, they were going to join them. These trips would go on for hours.
When you follow an ideology where you worship the rich as gods, you can either hate yourself for not being one of them, or delude yourself into thinking that you would be if it weren't for that dark feller in the white house. |

'The next President of the United States, Paul Ryan'
08/11/12, 22:50 That's no excuse for Romney. Due to a mixup at the robotics firm that manufactured him, he technically is a teleprompter. |

'The next President of the United States, Paul Ryan'
08/11/12, 22:43 I decided to become President after reading about Ronald Reagan. |

Red Dawn 2012 trailer
08/11/12, 14:27 I wonder if this one will use the same "everyone died but it's okay because FREEDOM" ending as the original, or if it'll actually try to do a story where a bunch of high school kids defeat the Red Menace with daddy's gun collection.
I mean, if you're going to do a masturbatory Teabagger fantasy you may as well go all in. |

Megaman X4: Enter Double
08/11/12, 14:07 Why does every childhood PC gaming story I hear sound so damn lonely? |
 |
Megaman X4: Enter Double
08/11/12, 14:07 The Double plot twist was awesome. For most of the game he's giving you missions and telling you where to go, and then suddenly he's a boss you have to fight.
So this was like if you got to kill Navi midway through Ocarina. |

Everybody Apparently Fucking Loathes Raymond
08/11/12, 02:05 Keep in mind, this is how the characters would actually experience these events. In their lives, every conversation ends with a long, awkward pause, during which they contemplate their many, many mistakes. |

Everybody Apparently Fucking Loathes Raymond
08/10/12, 23:23 It's a little terrifying how manipulative a laugh track can be. |

Man with Asperger's gives 13-minute public speech about why ecchi anime is better than romance anime
08/10/12, 16:23 I kind of want to stage a presentation like this one for Youtube's benefit. All I need is a classroom to film it in, an ugly tshirt, and two pounds of hair on my face.
The speech will be called "Five greatest animes of all time," and the list will consist of The Legend of Korra, Teen Titans, Aladdin, My Little Pony, and Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. I will go on to explain that all of these series are vastly superior to American cartoons like Dragon Ball Z and Power Rangers. Then I'll expand on the point by spotlighting the beloved manga character, Garfield.
At the end, there will be a standing ovation and the guy playing the teacher will walk up and hand me First Prize in Learning.
We put this on Youtube, then we sit back and enjoy the beautiful comments. |

Making of Batman & Robin - Bane
08/10/12, 00:16 Comic book Bane is a terrific villain. As originally written, he's practically as smart and capable as Bruce Wayne, but lacks his resources. He makes up for it by being ridiculously strong and absolutely ferocious: he grew up in a hellish south american prison, but proved to be so brilliant a tactician that he didn't need to bother escaping: he took over the place and then just walked out the door. Mentally, though, he's still living by prison rules, and sees Gotham City as just another place where he has to prove himself the alpha dog. That's why he goes after Batman.
The problem with Bane is that most people look at him, see that he's strong, and assume that that's his entire character. But it's worth mentioning that when he defeats Batman in Knightfall, he does it by outsmarting and outmaneuvering him. He only uses his strength to deliver the final blow. |

Anime convention presentation on 'the history of lolis'
08/09/12, 18:33 The same night as the party, a big truck with Thai lettering on it pulls up to the hotel.
The back of the truck reads "CONTENTS: NOTHING SUSPICIOUS." |

Anime convention presentation on 'the history of lolis'
08/09/12, 18:31 I'm willing to bet that most of POETV has read The Sandman, too. If not, they freaking should.
That storyline displays one of my favorite things about Gaiman: he takes an idea that's really dumb, worn-out and juvenile on its face ("Get it? CEREAL killers!") and uses it to create an absolutely fascinating and brilliantly written horror story.
In other news, they stopped making good anime around 2001. The last good anime was called Kaiba. It's about space people who fall in love, or something. |
