Zero Punctuation- Wolfenstein

I don't get all the hate for Wolfenstein. It's a damn good, entertaining shooter that uses the little gimmick ideas just enough to make it fun but doesn't use them as a crutch.

Mythbusters - one million match head bomb

We did indeed do it. We videotaped it knowing we would never be able to watch it as it happened, but I seriously doubt I could get access to the tape being as it's been years and I'm out of touch with the folks who did it. As for the "technical" details, the sparklers had roughly a half inch of space between them. They were in a long, large piece of bread, sort of like french bread but thicker and longer, maybe about three feet long? Something like that. I realize this is the internet age of "screencaps or it didn't happen", but I don't really tell this story to brag. It's just something I was involved in randomly unexpectedly one 4th of July. Only afterwards did I realize what a stupid thing it was in that, despite it being "cool" on a Beavis and Butthead level, it could have potentially started a fire or something worse.

This is one of the Jack Dangers remixes of the track, not the original, just to note.
Mythbusters - one million match head bomb

Pussies. I did something like this once with somewhere around 500-600 sparklers. Some people I knew saved up to buy a ton of them for July 4th then stuck them all in a large piece of bread, I think it was a large baguette or something. We used a longer sparkler to act as a "fuse." A second after the whole thing was engulfed in the white light of infinity (which no one could look directly act) the massive heat drove everyone back 10 or 15 feet. The whole thing lasted about 3 or 4 minutes during which the entire neighborhood looked like the sun had come back out. Afterwards the heat radiating from the crater left in the ground kept people away for another 15 minutes or so. In the crater was a glowing mass of molten metal and, as we later discovered, a layer of glass and partially melted rock.

You know, Equilibrium wasn't a masterpiece or anything, but to come from that to THIS is pretty fucked up.

So he went through the trouble of wearing shades to try and disguise the fact he's reading this from a screen or something, then fucks it up completely in every way possible during the readthrough.

Wow.

Fucking EXACTLY. When I first started playing this I was like "Oh man, did this get out to the COMMUNITY??"

So...a little disappointed. But not by much.
The Consequences of Feminism

I see feminization and stuff and as something that is like taking away from the roles of man and stuff so that like men become emasculated and stuff.

Funny, but the edited version in the theater was better, I think.
Seinfeld - George's 7th birthday party

I liked how the show started like it was supposed to be some kind of subversive commentary on the American sitcom, and then it just quickly turned into the same, repetitive, bland sitcom bullshit.

Dream competition was pretty big time. The thing is there where places where people could create portals to their custom worlds, so everyone wanted the prime spots for the portals so basically people for a time actually were creating bots that sat in this world literally just to create portals every time the portal faded (which I think was every 30 minutes or something like that). Most of the hardcore dream maker people were either into the dumb DARK VAMPYOR furry roleplay or just into yiffing bullshit, but occasionally some cool people did some great things.

Just because someone is right about something doesn't mean they cannot also be pretentious.

Holy fuck, I never imagined there was so much TMBG hate in the world. Jesus.
These guys are OK with me. Never liked their music enough to buy any of their albums, but for some reason it pleases me they exist.

Also, their Home Movies appearance was good for some laughs.
Furcadia- Wolf House Stolen

I used Furcadia for a brief period around 1995 or 96 when it first had come out as I was curious what it was since ex Ultima developers were behind it. It's basically just a graphical chat, sort of like a semi-primitive Second Life or something. It had a kind of dumb charm to it at first but then the furries soon started to overtake it which, I later found out, was basically the goal of the developers who were huge furries. The pervert contingent got to be such a huge problem that eventually they had to make an entirely separate "world" solely for the furries to hang out and pretend to fuck in because I guess you have to keep the serious "furry roleplay" people and the "furry sex" people in separate cages to avoid drama.
Anyway, the software came with the ability to create your own little worlds and then upload them into the main game so that anyone could come in and visit unless you specifically limited access. In order to enter someone else's custom level the level would have to download onto your computer first (logical, right?), so basically ANYONE can have access to your maps simply by fucking walking into the level, so all this shit about dream stealing is fucking hilarious.

HIm and Warren Ellis are. I'm assuming this might be a temp track. It's not HORRIBLE, I just don't think it fits the mood of the book to have a musical score at all, personally.

73Q doesn't have a hopper because presumably Chet assumes no one would do something that fucking stupid and it's stupid to have a hopper for music videos since it means every douchebag with different tastes would just vote everything down. Half the shit on there right now would never have made it with a hopper system.
The few times someone has spammed or abused 73Q, it's usually taken care of itself by being one-starred off the front page and the person caught enough shit for it that they never did it again. If someone went REALLY far, I'm sure Chet would just ban them if it really got to that sad of a point.
