This is stupid, BUT it reminds me of the times I've spotted shit like this in cartoons. I remember seeing some anime on TV where one of the main characters got drunk on "special tea." Also, I saw an episode of DBZ once where some of the characters were drinking what was clearly beer, but had been badly visually altered to look like water I guess. They left the foam on the top, though. That was kind of funny.

Actually, McCain should probably shut the fuck up at this point about his "War record", which isn't really anything special. He wasn't the only POW. He wasn't the only vet. Thousands if not millions of people in this country had someone close to them involved in Vietnam or Korea or WW2 or any number of wars and conflicts. McCain's ultimate disrespect to all the military men and women of this country is his continuous wrapping of himself in this blanket of "I'M A P.O.W!!! I'M SPECIAL!" Too bad he voted along with the Bush crowd to reduce troop leave, increase tours of duty, not bother with improving the funding or conditions of V.A. medical care or anything of that sort. So, if McCain wants to paint himself as some sort of ersatz hero, he obviously can (and does), but most vets know he's a fucking blowhard.

The best part of this movie is how the sharks in it are all magical size-changing sharks and how I get this vision of some film-school intern trying desperately to communicate to that fucking hack Renny Harlin "Uh, sir, you know the sharks are different sizes in different scenes, right? If I had the time and energy (and not as much anger in me about this) I would make a great parody of this with the same tinkly music and "I AM MAN-SAD" style narration about how Bush repeatedly and blatantly ignored all of the clear signs 9/11 was coming, not to mention how the US government (mostly Republicans) opted to train and arm most of these terrorists in the 80s and directly manufacture the political climate in the Middle East that emboldened them into what we now see today.
Make no mistake, this is not just political grandstanding of the usual sort. This is fucking disgusting and all Republicans everywhere should be utterly ashamed of what their party is doing by exploiting 9/11 victims in such a cheap, tasteless manner. Especially when they all helped cause it, then fought to prevent a full investigation, then attempted to stymie the process of recovering the bodies and restoring ground zero as quickly as possible.
A lot of people won't care about what the RNC pulled with this video, and that's really sad and disappointing, because it is a sign of deep, deep, vile sickness within these people to which so many need to wake up to.

I don't advocate violence against cops, despite how fucked up this whole RNC thing is going, but this video only further proves my point as to why people need to stop with the apologetics for this kind of authoritarian behavior. When you pull that shit, ALL COPS lose respect and for all we know this cop might maybe have actually been trying to do his job, but instead he was assaulted because how the fuck are we supposed to know which cops are doing their jobs and which ones are just tiny-dicked steroid cases with big egos? |

If the movie had been 90 minutes long, I would have agreed. But it was three hours, much of which has very little going on. Now, I love Lynch, and I dig long, experimental arty movies (I love the shit out of Solaris and Stalker), but three hours of this was just too much. And this was the edited version from what I understand. |
