As much as I hate the Iraq war and what is going on there, calling this murder is ridiculous. Like it or not the soldiers are doing their fucking job and clearly were acting within the parameters they're supposed to. It's a fucking warzone. Save your indignation for the soldiers who ARE the problem, not the ones being shot at and out there every day facing insurgents and extremists trying to KILL THEM.
For every video of some soldier doing something stupid or going apeshit, there's dozens more you don't see of soldiers trying to do their jobs as best as they can and as honorably as they can in a situation that puts them all at risk.

Cool movie, but I have to agree. Not that Warhammer was staggeringly original or anything, but this is basically just rehashed imagery from Pelennor Fields. Even a battering ram like Grond.
Still....it seems there is a growing contingent of people on the internet who insist this game will be the MMORPG to end all MMORPGs, so we'll see won't we. |

In the film, this scene was completely cut out, but the whole segment still remains in the film.
What was really the tragedy behind this scene was that it was so fucking uneccessary and just this dumb, big budget bullshit. They had already filmed plenty of footage for the Vic Morrow sequence, including a segment in Vietnam, but someone somewhere (Landis, maybe?) was like "CAN'T HAVE ANYTHING ON FILM TO DO WITH VIETNAM WITHOUT LOTS OF FUCKING EXPLOSIONS AND HELICOPTERS" despite the fact this scene was totally out of character for the Twilight Zone story it was based on. So, even after the accident, they still had plenty of footage to make a good remake out of that original story, and you begin to understand how pointless this whole fucking stunt was. |

So....exactly what terrorists has McCain been responsible for stopping? He, like so many others in the government said, after 9/11, that Bin Laden's days were numbered and he and all of Al Qaeda would be destroyed.
Now, here we sit, 7 years later and, oddly, terrorists are still everywhere threatening all kinds of people and Bin Laden still eludes capture (is anyone even trying?).
So, how is it "taking a stand" to vote for a political party who, with massive amounts of money, resources, and (at least initially) the backing of the majority of the world community, have failed to make virtually any progress? |
