This also reminds me of that Mysterious Temple one too where the kids had to go through the maze or whatever, and half the time they got lost or didn't know what the fuck was going on so the host was just yelling at them. |

Funny how you extrapolated a personal insult to me out of what I said, which wasn't at all knee-jerk and was relatively well presented for being in the comments of a video, whether or not you agree with it.

What's great about this is that they emulated the basic overall style of the ending credits to pretty much any anime, without the realization that those credits are that length because of all the people needing crediting.....not 3 people making videos in MSPaint and WMM. |

Didn't realize he had died yesterday until this video went up. Still, I'm a little on the baleen side here. I appreciate his message and I'm obviously not knocking a guy who tries to do such a thing when facing death, but at the same time, his "message" comes off as trite when it's simply marketed as yet another fad-of-the-week self-help/self-realization thing. First was the book...then the video....NOW BUY THE COMPLETE PACKAGE COMPLETE WITH BONUS MATERIAL etc... He wrapped what he had to say in a very weak, consumer-culture oriented package that ultimately nullified a lot of the "break free for yourself" message he tried to convey. I'm not saying the guy tried to make money off it in some cynical way, but he allowed it to be co-opted in a way that, I think, ruined whatever he had to say. I especially liked the celebrities having their little photo ops with him and everything else, and it really begs the question of ultimately what his message actually meant to people: a way to make money off people also searching for meaning in life, or just to have their picture taken with him to make it seem like his wisdom, whatever it may be, somehow should legitimize their ideas? I dunno...call me jaded. |

I dunno...I would argue that View to A Kill and Moonraker are at least watchable, despite being ridiculous. FYEO is probably Moore's best Bond thanks largely to the storyline being straight-up espionage with little to no "supervillain" complex and such. I would also argue, though, that in the vein of the more fanicful Bonds, Octopussy is probably just as good. But I hate Golden Gun and I straight up cannot even watch Live and Let Die after seeing it twice (I gave it a second chance, after that I haven't seen it again) |
