You have a "guy" too? There's one at the store where I work (not a game store, though) who will instantly buy any video game for any current gen system if the main character is female. NOT if you have the option of playing a female, but only if the main character is JUST female.
He explained this to me in great detail once.

I think what sold me on this video was the kid's constant, weird train of logic that keeps him thinking of actual alternatives to GameStop, yet he can't comprehend there are alternatives.
GAMESTOP CONTROLS EVERYTHING except the other game stores that offer more money. I COULD GET MORE ON EBAY but I don't actually bother to.
It's like bitching that you can't use the stairs in a building because THE ELEVATOR HAS A MONOPOLY ON HOW YOU GET TO THE TOP when the stairs are right there. |

And it's worth noting that Dale Earnhardt died because he refused to wear the safety device developed PRECISELY to save drivers from what killed him. After this, it became required.

Then it might have been a movie first, before the game. In any case, I reviewed this a long time ago when I used to write movie reviews and ever since it has been a minor mission of mine to steer people away from it who think "OH WOW AWESOME PARASITE EVE MOVIE" because it's really slow, overlong, and based on the book which has little connection to the game.
My favorite scene is one of the initial organ harvesting sequences where you can tell they basically put a microphone in wet spaghetti or something and moved it around to create "surgical noises." |

To clarify, though, Parasite Eve was a novel before anything. Then a video game, then a movie, though the movie is more accurate to the book. The game took the basic premise, but moved in a whole different direction. |

Wouldn't really call it an RE clone since there were no zombies and the combat was turn based. Good intro. Game was merely OK, in my opinion. It had a good plot and some strong elements, but the game was just too fucking hard. The create-your-own-ammo system was interesting, but they made too many bosses who simply had immunity to so many things that you wound up in these Vagrant Story-style situations where you were fucked and had to use your weakest weapons to take on bosses because you accidentally chose a bad ammo or some shit. Too many cheap deaths in that game. |

Not really. Debra Hill and John Carpenter wanted to turn Halloween into an anthology series where each movie was a different Halloween themed horror story. They no longer wanted to do the Myers story, so they left after this one when it became obvious the anthology idea would never work since the rights owners wanted to go back to Myers with part 4. |
