Not being Canadian and not understanding much about their politics, is it safe to say that the whole Quebecois thing is sort of the Northern version of Tea Party-esque sentiment? The few people I've known who lived in Canada always expressed a deep disdain for Quebec and talked about it like it was the "South" of Canada or something. |

The reviews for this are all basically saying roughly the same thing: that as stupid as it is, it's probably fine as entertainment for toddlers, but releasing it into theaters when toddlers would need an adult to take them there and then offer nothing at all for adults is just stupid. |

I can't remember if I read it in an interview or if it's on the commentary for these DVDs, but David Cross said the inspiration for this sketch came from him reading something about how Meryl Streep claimed to have laid on a giant block of ice to "feel what it's like to be dead" to 'enhance' her acting ability in a scene where she would appear as a corpse in the film Ironweed. |

It reminds me of that Don Piper asshat. He's the guy who claims he died in a car wreck for 90 minutes and was in heaven all that time, and was then sent back to bring God's message to earth or some bullshit. Despite the fact that a man being clinically dead for an hour and a half then coming back to life would be a medical miracle bound straight for dozens of journals, there's is absolutely no record of even the supposed accident this guy had. Yet, millions of people believe his made-up story without even the most microscopic amount of skepticism. In short, I hate people who are both religious AND desperately gullible to the point of monumental stupidity. |
