When Super Mario games are all about committing crimes on property and people and encourage kids to act out these things in real life and then people wearing Mario merchandise actually start doing it and then engaging in continuous anti-social behavior based on their shitty subculture to the point where Mario is now instantly associated with mongoloid dumbshits with the intelligence of a rotten potato who apply violence as the first solution to anything, then I guess we'll all have to suffer the consequences of that gang classification. |

I saw this in a theater setting originally, and it blew my mind. I also like how, to this day, the film is still marketed with Tippi Hedren's name in the main cast, despite the fact the only appearance of her in the movie is a quick shot of a movie she was in playing on a TV in a motel room.
Supposedly, none of the actors got paid until the film was picked up by Magnet for DVD release, who then paid everyone who worked on the film who got screwed out of money by the batshit director. |

The problem with the Burton Batman movies is that A) they are way too fucking dark and "edgy" without taking a firm stand on being serious and B) Burton has the movies dripping with atmosphere and set design and well composed shots, but can't do dick with action sequences which Burton disposes with as quickly as possible perhaps because he knows his limitations. |

Meh...these movies really aren't any worse or better than what they promised, I still never got the nerd rage over them. A comic book movie that looks and feels like a comic book is kind of nice once and awhile rather than people constantly trying to "re-imagine" them into something gritty and realistic and something that takes itself so seriously. They obviously were going for the mood of the TV show rather than the Burton films (which I thought were pretty mediocre, frankly) and I can dig that. They're not great movies by a longshot, but eh...comic book movies should indulge their silly pulp nature once and awhile. |
