Fan Fiction Theatre: The Office
04/20/11, 20:31 Yeah, playing the bad material straight is a good call. Imagine how much this would suck if the TVTropes readers were doing it. |

Rachel Maddow on Rick Snyder Abolishing Local Government
04/20/11, 17:15 Two word answer for the Teabaggers: "Medicare vouchers". Benton Harbor won't matter to them because black people. |

Adventure Time - Finn drops a Drama Bomb
04/20/11, 11:46 The original version of Marceline's song (plus the version in this clip) can be heard here:
http://www.poetv.com/video.php?vid=90925
I'm guessing they didn't go with the original version because it was a bit too on-the-nose for too many kids out there. |

Fan Fiction Theatre: Spongebob Squarepants
04/19/11, 14:35 The production values are a million times better than the material deserves and I am glad for it. |

Why Reading is Bad
04/19/11, 09:51 Is not a Bort original saying; comes from a guy named John Rogers over at kfmonkey.blogspot.com. |

Why Reading is Bad
04/19/11, 07:15 There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: "The Lord of the Rings" and "Atlas Shrugged". One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs. |

Why Reading is Bad
04/19/11, 07:13 Libertarians (and Republicans and Teabaggers) make the mistake of thinking that only the government can take away freedoms. But history shows that other institutions, such as churches or businesses, can limit peoples' freedoms too, and their excesses need to be curbed.
If you lose your arm in an industrial accident, do you consider your freedoms compromised? If jobs in your area pay so little that you can't afford a car and try your luck in another town, do you consider your freedoms compromised?
Libertarians trust the free market to correct injustices, and perhaps it eventually does, but not necessarily swiftly or with a minimum of collateral damage. Basically, we already tried things the Libertarian way, and it sucked, which is why we have the mean ol' "nanny state". Imagine, when you buy meat you can feel confident it won't contain maggots, or when you drop your kids off at a daycare center you know the staff have been trained and background-checked. |

Why Reading is Bad
04/19/11, 02:42 Parker is probably a libertarian in that he's a Republican who thinks he's a cut above the "ordinary" Republicans, and he has no use for the War on Drugs. The guy had harsher things to say about Al Gore from 2001 to 2009 than he did about a president whom historians are already lining up to declare the worst or second worst in history, and whom "real" libertarians found to be pretty objectionable. |

Dems almost trick GOP into approving their own budget
04/18/11, 14:22 Off by two, dammit. But you get the idea. |

Dems almost trick GOP into approving their own budget
04/18/11, 14:21 Damn kids these days don't know how to debug nothing.
Examine the HTML, you'll notice that the auto-inserted "BR" tag is showing as "B R", with a space in the middle. That's the auto-inserted space, the one that normally breaks URLs. Except in this case it happened to fall in the middle of the tag, such that your browser thinks it's a "B" tag with a mysterious "R" property.
So_enter_a_64_character_string_without_any_spaces_and_hit_enter.
Voila!

04/14/11, 17:54 Well I'd be worried too -- it's still shitting its last victim.

Bravestarr - The Price
04/13/11, 17:36 This is the very last cartoon ever to be made by Filmation. Think of it as the hit of "spin" that made Lou Scheimer overdose. |

Bill Maher Calls for Class War
04/13/11, 07:05 It's a term associated with Karl Marx and communism. |
 |
Bill Maher Calls for Class War
04/13/11, 07:03 Guys! Guys! You're both right. Demonized words make for an uphill battle and should be avoided when you're trying to make a point, and should be reclaimed at other times.
Solution: call it "class warfare" when the rich want lower taxes, and "fair taxes" when we try to raise the taxes on the rich. |

IAmTheEnd1000 and the annoying elevator
04/12/11, 22:58 The ruckus starting at 1:42 sounded at first like a pack of feral dogs coming down the hallway. IAmTheEnd1000 just kept shuffling along, resigned to a fate of being torn to pieces by wild animals. |
