It's one of the two Comedic Archetypes present in this commercial: Denial. It's no coincidence that all of Seinfeld involved the cast trying to get their show made, only to fail. They get a deal, and the show ends with one final denial. Or take any teen sex romp - trying to get laid and failing.
The other Comedic Archetypes in this cartoon is Deception. The character creates repeated lies only to have the entire structure crash down around them. |
