Then we should call all movies commercials.
No wait, we can use a more robust set of criteria and say that the things that spend a good third of the length of themselves either talking about the company or displaying said companies logo are commercials.
It's a great commercial, but doing something amazing to promote your company (not microscopes, durr hurr) doesn't make it not a commercial. |

Wow, that bunched up a lot of folks' panties. Sorry, but t just isn't a very good game. The story is pretty good, but the gameplay is repetitive and predictable, especially if you played Bioshock 1, of which it is a near carbon copy. |

I dunno, seems like the series is continuing its slow decline. They have such incredible production values (ignoring the fact that they're mostly just aping great crime films), if they would just mix the gameplay up a little they would really have something special. But nope, every GTA since III has the exact. same. gameplay.
All it took was adding a few novel mechanics and some different ambiance, and Red Dead Redemption was a masterpiece. It's like the guys making the GTAs don't wanna make video games, they'd rather be directing films. Unfortunately all they can come up with is remaking Scarface, Goodfellas, Boyz In The Hood, et al.
No worries tho, Saint's Row IV is out a few weeks before this, and it will no doubt hold me over till I can pick this up at half off during the Steam holiday sale. |
