I kinda but not really remember that part of DRII, but if you're talking about a Dom DeLuise lookalike chef, you're talking about Paul Prudhomme, who has been off and on confined to a wheelchair since the 90s, and in either state is anecdotally catastrophic to party with.
I guess my points are, who cares about those shitty, game-breaking cinematics sandwiched in the otherwise awesome gameplay of the Dead Rising games, and I forgot my other point, but I'm gonna go butter toast a steak sandwich. Because of the debt to Escoffier. |

For the love of god, why would you pay 20 dollars for some drinks and a popcorn, unless you are anticipating killer dry-mouth and munchies? Why are you all treating this like it's the sequel to the most meaningful movie of all time, but by a different directing/writing team? It's a movie about flying space aliens, and I'm pretty sure Michael Shannon yells in it. What else were you expecting/requiring? |

It is definitely lazy fight choreography, and especially unevenly applied here, but that totally does happen. Not to go all bouncer, but we are so fragile if we are hit in the right way. A broken jaw or a good, undefended strike to the temple or upper head area can immediately bring down even the biggest toughest guys and even prove fatal.
I guess what I'm saying, though it chagrins me to no end to defend the fucking Karate Kid, is that we can assume that Mr. Miyagi is such an expert that he can apply those kinds of blows to these kids, and we are watching through young Daniel's perspective; so given the shellacking he just received, he probably isn't very precisely registering what was going down.
I mean that's what you would say if you felt the need to justify your simple suspension of disbelief while watching a movie when you were a kid.
