10/02/10, 04:19 Yeah, that's pretty damn amazing by 2600 standards. |

Moe explains Postmodernism
10/02/10, 04:14 It's replacing them with entirely new barriers. For every actual piece of art in a modern/postmodern art gallery, you have about 50 people who are just collecting trash from the side of the freeway as some sort of ecological statement, or deconstructing their essence into a representative graph of wishes vs. deeds, or saying "fuck it I'll just rip off DuChamp." |

Sinaria gameplay
10/02/10, 04:03 I bet half of the music was just ripped off from various MOD files they had laying around. All the samples definitely were, at least. |

'Bottle' by Kirsten Lepore
09/30/10, 02:35 My favorite thing about this short is that out of necessity of the animation technique, it appears that time is passing very quickly relative to the internal clocks of the characters. As a result, I get the distinct feeling that these are long, slow-moving, natural forces operating on geological time, wherein the life of a human is just a blink in their eye, and even the Earth itself lives, breathes, and dies. |

Bible Belt State Puts First Retarded Woman to Death
09/27/10, 17:51 That said, I personally think that a life sentence with no hope for parole is way worse than death, but I'm a filthy Godless atheist who believes that being able to do constructive things is what makes life worth living so what do I know? |

Bible Belt State Puts First Retarded Woman to Death
09/27/10, 17:45 because presumably someone held a gun to the actual killers' heads and forced them to accept money to take another person's life. |

Time Slaughter Fatalities
09/27/10, 16:16 Oh, is THAT why NESticle had the stupid blood-dripping hand mouse cursor? I always wondered about that.
Being able to code a decent emulator has nothing to do with being able to come up with good gameplay ideas, draw art, do voice acting, and so on. Emulation is actually pretty straightforward, as long as you're on a straightforward CPU (which the 6502 is) and not going for cycle-accuracy (and I don't recall NESticle being cycle-accurate). The main weirdness with the NES is the various MMCs but there's only a handful you have to deal with to cover the vast majority of games. |

Teaching Kids to Not Double Dip
09/26/10, 16:42 I once had a roommate who thought it was perfectly okay to lick off the tip of a condiment bottle. He did this at home, which was bad enough, but he also did it at fast food restaurants. Ever since then I've always had a hard time using condiments at fast food restaurants which use condiment bottles instead of disposable packets or self-serve pumps with cups or whatever, because now I assume that lots of people do this shit.
Anyway, stars are for this woman's party description reminding me of this thing that I have never been able to scrub from my memory. |
