Snow Plowing Train
12/21/07, 13:57

I can't wait to have winter again.
Love at First Sight

Who doesn't love Kylie Minogue?
Almost Live - Roscoe's Oriental Rug Emporium
12/19/07, 20:25

Comedy Central (or the Comedy Channel or HA!, whatever it was then) used to show reruns of Almost Live in the very late 80's/early 90's.
Bruce Willis Singing Seagram's Commercial
12/18/07, 15:54

This also secretly appears at the end of my 'Jackie Rogers Jr. $100,000 Jackpot Wad' submission.
SNL - First Citywide Bank
12/17/07, 19:32

This loses something without the context of the REAL bank commercials that were just like this and would run during the SNL breaks. The 'real people' testimonials/fade to black/friendly bank guy campaign was really effective (to me) at first because the form of the ad was so new. These ads were as ubiquitous as Geico back in the late 80's.

The SNL parody shows just how empty the ads were. All style.

SNL later made fun of the same campaign when Roseanne Barr hosted.
1987 Orange Bowl half-time show

The Orange Bowl beauty queens trapped in the card-boxes!
Fashion Enemy - Custom Converse
12/08/07, 13:20

Wow. That's great. I'd pay probably $450.00-600.00 for the final product.
Searching for the Wrong-Eyed Jesus - Bar Scene
12/08/07, 13:04

Very interesting. I am intrigued by what the rest of the movie must be like.
Citizen Soldier National Guard ad
12/07/07, 23:39

Someone should insert the Time Chasers guy into the Revolutionary War re-enactors shots.
Barack OBollywood
12/07/07, 18:05

I just got a weird Obama=foreigner vibe from it. I still don't get the point of this.
Barack OBollywood
12/07/07, 11:51

Well, it's not funny, almost totally pointless and vaguely racist. FIVE STARS!
Long Road to Ruin
12/07/07, 10:44

Colour on the Thames (1935) {low sound}
12/07/07, 10:17

Yes, this was the same reaction I had. Practically the only clue to it's actual date is the woman's dress at the very beginning.

I had no idea that there were so many cars on the road back then.
(Alternate) Happy Days TV Intro

Mr. Belvedere Fan Club
12/07/07, 10:05

Cuts to the heart of fandom quite well.

If this was on a modern episode, they would have let Sandler or Farley flip out and dominate the entire sketch with comedy screaming.
The Wave
12/07/07, 09:53

Wonderfully camptastic, but with a good message. Bruce Davison is GREAT.

I can't help but think that the young reactionaries of the early Reagan era got a thrill out of watching a then-modern high school go Nazi. Just stop watching in the last 5 minutes and write your own fanfic Holocaust.

Edward R. Murrow reports on the liberation of Buchenwald, 1945
12/06/07, 22:30

Amazing, but the last few words are cut off. "...if there be a better epitaph, history does not record it."
Wicked Wicked trailer
12/05/07, 19:06

Gee, I wonder why MGM went bankrupt in the late 60's...
'Time Chasers' Special Anniversary Edition DVD
12/03/07, 08:32

The MST3K of this is my favorite post-Joel episode. I think I might actually buy this DVD.
Old Milwaukee Beer
12/02/07, 11:26

Needs a Tony Dow (Wally from Leave It to Beaver) tag.
