Aphex Twin - minipops 67 [120.2][source field mix]

Not at all true. Horrific transatlantic shipping costs aside, Bleep is pretty great- you can preorder the album in 320kbps mp3, WAV, FLAC or 24-bit WAV which I did not even know was a thing. And every LP that comes out on Warp now includes a download voucher for the mp3 version.

Love this. A small correction though- this is a music video for the band Zombie Zombie's song "Driving This Road Til Death Sets You Free". They also did an EP of John Carpenter covers, including Ennio Morricone's The Thing theme.

I keep meaning to buy "official" mp3s to replace the shitty vinyl rips off Soulseek I've had for ages but the last time I checked, Rephlex's webpage was still down and redirecting to their Discogs listing. Which sucks because they don't sell digital releases through anyone else :(

Analord took a long, looong time to sink in for me (nowhere near the immediate "oh hey he's back" impact of the Tuss releases) but there are absolutely some tunes there. Try "Crying in Your Face," "PWSteal.Ldpinch.D" and "Cilonen" to start with.

I'm pretty psyched about Syro, and my initial impression of this track is more or less the same as Void 71's. He's hitting a lot of recognizable sounds and styles from across his career in this one track; it'll be interesting to see if that's true of the album as a whole.

From the writer* of Scorsese's After Hours!

*yeah, he plagiarized about half of After Hours and essentially turned somebody else's radio play into a screenplay, but shit, man, AFTER HOURS
The Resurrected (1992) - adaption of 'The Strange Case of Charles Dexter Ward'

Oh man, I remember this. Between this and Return of the Living Dead (and, you know, fucking Dark Star and Alien and Total Recall and being an FX guy on Star Wars and...), O'Bannon deserved a longer and better-supported career as a director.

I'm an idiot and submitted an instrumental without checking to make sure it was correct. The correct track is up as a replacement video.

Phase IV - The Beginning
06/06/14, 15:46

Yeah, I would donate like a motherfucker for a restored blu-ray of this along with Bass's "Quest" and maybe "Why Man Creates" and "The Searching Eye".

Incidentally, if anyone likes this and hasn't yet seen The Hellstrom Chronicle, GET ON THAT SHIT PRONTO. It's a fake documentary presented by a fictional scientist with a 70's whitefro about how insects are horrible and will eventually outcompete man that nonetheless was factually accurate enough to win the Best Documentary Oscar, with even more stunning insect photography by the same guy that handled it for Phase IV. There's a good-looking but extra-free DVD from Olive Films.
