Just like any other Sonic game done in the last 10 years, but boy are there some people in the internet already proclaiming this is, yes, the "one" cleans the stain from the franchise and what not.

Not exactly sure how it's meant to do that when it's not a new game at all. It's just a collection of levels from the old games, some of which can now be played in 3D.

It's basically Sega admitting defeat.

Really, why the fuck should Sega even try to make a good Sonic game anymore?

They've been testing this for years now; if they put their least talented people and have them churn out the same shit every year, so long as it has a few furries in it, it will sell insanely well and everyone will cry that that was Sonic's return to form for a few months before they announce the next title, at which point they'll all go "Finally, a GOOD Sonic game is on the horizon!" and repeat the whole cycle all over again.

I'm totally fine with this, really. Sega can keep making quick cash off idiots while putting their real effort into games like Yakuza as long as it keeps forking for them.

Why don't they just remove all player controls and let you watch sonic automatically slide through a pretty 3d environment already. It's clearly what they're working towards.

That's how almost any of the recent 3D games of Sonic work, except from the ending, where he will probably smash himself into a wall full of spikes.

Here I was thinking there would finally be a decent Sonic game.

Growing up on the blue blur, I played his epic, albeit tiny, golden age. I loved him.

But now as am adult, my dreams have slowly been shattered. I hate adulthood and most people in it. Only now do I realize what my father and aunts have been trying to hide me from. So I play games and have lots of fun.

But no fun came from Sonic for years. So I was waiting for a cool game. And waiting. Waiting some more. To quote animate series Sonic, "I'm waiting!" I just had to stop. At least I have the old games.
