In the 80's, Disney had a thing for dressing Mickey up in hip Miami Vice outfits on posters and merchandise. Minnie had a Material Girl look going on while Goofy dressed like Maverick from Top Gun.

Not coincidentally, the 80's were probably the least successful decade in Disney's history.
