Yes we can.
(this one's definitely less disappointing than Paperboy, though)

Anybody who speaks well of this game should feel bad about themselves.
It was an awesome game until you got to that impossible scooter level.
I would've liked this game as a kid if it didn't make me want to pull my hair out over it's insane difficult. To this day I consider it the hardest game I ever played.
blue vein steel
the snake level was way harder than the scooters
Some of us never got past the scooter level.
The unicycle level was literally impossible (I tried it with save states and still couldn't do it) until you discovered the trick of pausing it at every corner.
This game was the funnest first 2 levels followed by the most sadistic bullshit in any game.

Ah Battletoads, the game that ended countless friendships.
This game was so freaking hard that it is actually impossible to beat it with a friend. And those few that actually managed to somehow complete were considered either freaks or some kind of god of video games.

AND YOUR REWARD FOR BEATING ONE OF THE MOST UNFORGIVINGLY DIFFICULT GAMES OF ALL TIME IS....
For all the effort to beat it you should have at least seen the Dark Queen naked.
I would've settled for a video of the game's creators being punched in the face.

YES! Let's play! I will return the favor shortly.
(also what is up with the ripped off SMRPG music in the intro)

I tried finding The Tick for SNES, but I guess nobody else was masochistic enough to finish it in this day and age. It wasn't hard, just a turd of a game that we finished as a group just for the "fuck it, we have to see how they end this" factor.
Spoiler: after you beat the final boss all it does is show the same game over screen as when you die iirc.

Don't know about SNES, but I saw the ending for Sega Genesis, and it is just as shitty. Just displays a "The End" screen before rolling the credits.

It's a good thing almost nobody got a chance to experience this disappointment.

Well, it wasn't as bad as the Paperboy ending.
I remember beating Paperboy and going "well... I'll never do THAT again."

This and Arcade's Revenge for the SNES were the two games I tried and tried but could never beat. I looked it up on youtube and AR's ending was almost as disappointing.

The day Arino plays this i will reach the ultimate climax.
I thought that for the most part that Arino didn't play

Sorry we couldn't make a proper ending screen for you guys, we were too busy programming things into this game that make tearing off your own fingernails seem pleasant and relaxing.
|twinkieafternoon - 2011-11-28 |
This and Contra (hopper) I don't think are that anti-climactic. They had limited space and still gave you the bad guy retreating, credits and music. Contra even had the island blowing up as your helicopter retreats.
Now paperboy...that's bullshit AND it ends on a bonus level, so you're confused when you lose and still win.

An ending maybe three people saw. The reason the game development studio didn't get burned down is because it's fairly simple to take down three overweight nerds.
