The irony of India's caste society is that the very, very bottom of the castes are the people who cremate the dead. They are literally the most "untouchable", yet virtually everyone, even the higher castes, must eventually go to them and pay them to properly process the dead and, of course, after they themselves are dead, they must be interred by this untouchable caste.
