I'm actually surprised this hasn't come up much since the repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell. The benefits married members get are spectacular. Its like they get paid much more for the same job than non-married members of the same rank.

It's amazing how often Romney's thin veneer of comfort and confidence is broken by regular voters asking simple yet controversial questions. It's always fun to watch his brow slowly furrow more and more and his mouth turn further and further down as he sees his softball pitch turn into a curve ball.

He can be more socially liberal, I mean he brought about Romney Care and he's the Republican I'm most likely to vote for. I don't mind whatever religious beliefs my candidates have as long as they leave them outside their politics. He's obviously going for the Jesus freaks as the Republicans still see them as their main base. Mormons are only a big political power in Utah.

I think I actually agree with you Mark. I mean, if there was a venn diagram, those two groups would overlap almost directly. And since he can't change his religion, he might as well change how he approaches gay rights. All this "genuine conservative" cred bullshit goes too far.

Leave aside the fact that, at this late hour, the Republicans are still running their candidates across focus groups to vet....oh, wait. Those were debates?

It's like the Republicans don't want to accept that Romney - slickster he may be - is a perfect general campaign candidate to attract the centrist and moderate voters if he'd lay off the far right pandering nonsense and could give them the win they so desperately desire. Instead they need a fringe nut with a big mouth who spouts radical nonsense.

The reason they despise Romney is the reason he'd be their perfect candidate. Never ceases to amaze me.

Well, it turns out the Religious Right did indeed line up behind the Mormon, because these days, conservative Christianity is more about politics than theology.

Demographics are a bitch, though, especially in evangelical circles. There are just too many young people who see the Culture Wars as completely irrational; Pat Robertson may dominate with the 40+ crowd, but that's also the demographic shrinking the quickest.

They're the same age, but one looks a whole lot older.

Yeah, money and not having to actually work for a living does tend to minimize the wrinkles.

Yeah Cena, one lived a man's life, the other lived a life as a scum-sucking whore who never had a single accomplishment to call his own, except large-scale layoffs and the destruction of wealth.

After Gingrich or whatever other puppet gets the nomination, Romney will slink away to his cave for another 3 1/2 years before coming back and being mediocre, unlikable, and unelectable all over again.

The punchline is that Newt is even more unelectable than Romney, and the Republicans have just kissed the soccer mom vote they were just getting used to goodbye.

My vote as well, would that I could vote in American elections.
