I know her computer audience is going to laugh at it regardless, but I don't understand how the state of the union bit was even a joke.

Bort - 2012-02-03

I get that she's trying to mimic the Jon Stewart model of delivery: report an actual piece of news, follow up with a joke that illustrates the irony or hypocrisy. Except in her case, it's report an actual piece of news, follow up with a wingnut talking point ... which is pretty much the Fox model of straight news. Take away the shoulder wiggle and she'd be Steve Doocy.

Obama Obama boobs Obama hand flair boobs Obama Obama hand flair...boobs

Riskbreaker - 2012-02-03

I think the laugh track has become even louder than before.

TeenerTot - 2012-02-03

This is funny? How do conservative brains warp this into humor?

Bort - 2012-02-03

It's reinforcement of what they wanted to hear, which is comforting. Remember, a lot of conservatives thought that Stephen Colbert was for real, because he was saying the things they wanted to hear. Which is why a bunch of geniuses thought Colbert would be the perfect keynote speaker at the 2006 White House Correspondents' Dinner.

"He used... sarcasm. He knew all the tricks, dramatic irony, metaphor, bathos, puns, parody, litotes and... satire. He was vicious."

OxygenThief - 2012-02-03

Needs a smug tag.

YakooMarkTwo - 2012-02-03

Her very first sentence being in that Ace Ventura cadence that every single kids' show now constantly uses is easily enough for 5 stars. But then every single joke punctuated with the exact laugh track sound clinches it.

full crowd laugh, distant hooting in the right speaker, applause... repeat

Anaxagoras - 2012-02-03

Yeah, I noticed that too. I don't think laugh tracks are effective when you use the exact same one over & over.

Then again, I don't think this program cares about effectiveness.

*laugh track*

themilkshark - 2012-02-03

Way to skewer the liberal media establishment!

Konversekid - 2012-02-03

That was her best attempt at a joke too.

Meerkat - 2012-02-03

HA HA LIBERALS AM I RIGHT LADIES

Screwtape - 2012-02-03

The opening logo reminds me of the bad fascist-influenced news reporting from the 4th season of Babylon 5 [/nerd]

StanleyPain - 2012-02-03

Holy shit, this has gotten progressively worse and worse over time, almost to the point of being some genius Andy Kaufman-esque parody of right wing humor by basically engaging it continuously over years until it's literally just an echo chamber of "OBAMA BAD."
I'm almost impressed with that.

Riskbreaker - 2012-02-03

Guys guys, haven't you read the description of the video?

"Feel free to post your comments on this video, we love them. We also love seeing how many people won't read this disclaimer and realize the laughtrack is a joke itself."

GET IT? IT'S FUNNY BECAUSE.....because....well.....

SolRo - 2012-02-03

If you tell people it's a joke then it's funny, same concept as tim and eric.

cognitivedissonance - 2012-02-03

Oh, I get it, "bust".

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2012-02-03

She's so satisfied with herself.

Cherry Pop Culture - 2012-02-04

I...I...I don't understand any of this. It's a word salad to me.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2012-02-04

Not so much word salad as a dictionary that was tossed into a garbage disposal with a bunch of rotten vegetables and at least one unlaundered gym sock.
