I actually found a significant amount of humorous entertainment value from the irony of replacing a popular, and moving film soundtrack with a broken, and pitiful rendition of the same composition.

Your inability to derive entertainment value does not automatically place a work into the category of "awful"

I laughed at the one on YTMND too. I'm pretty sure Tim & Eric weren't around five years ago to force YOU to laugh though (unlike today where apparently they hold a gun to peoples' heads to make them laugh at unfunny videos).

So do you even have a point? Or is this another "rage against the Conan The Barbarian remake type of deal"?

Binro, as a longtime POEinhabitor I gotta say you're a good, genuine bloke and I love your passion for...stuff!

However, you gotta learn to let that stuff go, man. #1 rule of the internet: No matter how sacred you hold something, guaranteed someone will be fapping to it.

Now, as to your Conan question, no, there is no way in hell I would ever try to defend the Conan remake. Look, the original was no Citizen Kane but at least it had memorable lines and tits and soup cauldrons filled with heads.

My point is, you shouldn't get so bent out of shape about this stuff; it's inevitable anyway and it wastes your creative energy. Keep making awesome drawings of alien pop-up sac creatures from the sea (that you have dreamt); these things are what we love you for.

And I'm not railing against Tim & Eric & particular. It's just that this trend of deliberately doing mediocre things in a half-assed unpolished manner as a way of showing you're "outside the mainstream" is really starting to piss me off.
