Zoinks, Scoob, it's a white car with a missing headlight! Get his face on camera so we can expose him to his Illuminati masters! Then we can eat without voice to skull transmissions blowing my cool, maaaaan!

I know pretty much nothing about mental illness, but there's not really any hope for people like this, is there? There's medication, which from what little I've read really does have awful side effects, and what else? Lifelong institutionalization?
As a crazy-lite who's had a lot of rather unsettling experiences with "mental illness", I'd say: yes and no. There's meds for people like this, and some of them work, on certain people, for a time. But it's not like there's any easy, long-term "cure"- you're not just going to get rid of something like this in the same way you'd get rid of pneumonia, or even cancer.
This guy reminds me of my friend Robert- the stories, the physical mannerisms, the inflections and speech patterns, everything. Whenever he got off his meds, after a couple days he'd start rambling like this. One time, he told me how he was walking down the street, when poison gas started pouring out of the cracks in the sidewalk. The gas was created by government officials and was only lethal to white people, not blacks; it was part of some covert attempt to spark a race war in California. There were people in cars driving by, and those people knew about the gas, but they were safe, because they had their car windows rolled up, and every one of those people was in on the plan. They were in on it, and they were laughing at him, pointing and laughing at him dying on the sidewalk from the white-killing gas.
The lady on the phone deals with calls like this on a daily basis.
Well, he claimed that the meds routinely knocked him out. And when he was unconscious, black guys would sneak into his room and rape him. None of his treatment providers believed him (again, just like the guy in this video) so every so often he'd go into a panic and quit cold turkey.
Is there any hope for greasy haired neckbeards in general? This guy has an extra strike against him (schizophrenia) so I think it's safe to say 'fuck no'.
Easy, one or two normal(ish) people have to befriend them in a non-ironic manner and include them in normal activities...it's like teaching a captive animal to survive in the wild.
But that depends on people being helpful and not selfcentered, so...yeah, no fucking chance.
Uh, I don't think that would work. He'd probably just think that they're out to get him, and part of the conspiracy. Severe mental illness can't be cured with kindness.
Also, I don't think it's self-centered to not wish to spend one's free time around possibly dangerous paranoiac.
Uh, yeah, SolRo, that's all it takes. Because their illness won't come up with new delusions to work any "kindness" into their narrative.
Any actual help short of some kind of coping mechanism (good luck finding that) or a treatment that would probably sound like their worst conspiracy-fueled nightmare probably isn't a lasting solution for anyone involved.
Was responding to void about regular shut-ins, ya smacktards.
And a guy like this still needs social support along with intensive medical and psyciatric help. If he stops being paranoid from pills alone, he is still likely to relapse if he has no social support.
And I'm sure there was a point in his life before he went off the edge where some normal social interaction on a regular basis would have been very positive.
He could have avoided all of this by following my one simple rule: When people give you drugs, take them.
Most people don't stay on the drugs. They have terrible side effects that only get worse the longer you're on those drugs, and many of those side effects are permanent. You can get permanent sexual dysfunction. You can develop facial tics that don't ever go away. You can lose fine motor control to things like parkinsonism or dystonia. You can have short term memory problems and difficulties with tasks like math. Those aren't even the bad side effects. There's a number of side effects that can kill you. The worst side effect, in my opinion, is the inability to experience pleasure.
For some people the drugs work for life, but for most, the drugs are a temporary solution.
Yeah it sucks, you have to keep switching till you find the right combo. Most of the side effects (like the muscle twitch) dont become permanent if you stop quickly enough. I had that reaction to one drug and stopped it once it became like i was wearing an invisible electric pulse workout belt.
Side effects went away...except I can twitch/thrust my hips really quick if i want to.
Wait, are you guys arguing that mental people shouldnt get social support and not be on drugs?

Oh no, POOR BASTARD!
This reminds me, for some reason, of the Voyager episode where 7 of 9 thought she was being gangstalked by the Federation.

I think Mister Spinner is spun out.

That woman has do deal with people like that all day, every day.

What a douche.

It's actually normal, if you look at history people have always had emotions.

The hoodie over the head really pulls together the 'completely fucking sane' look this guy is going for.

Sounds like "mission accomplished." The lady on the phone is going to stop abusing children, and Mr. Spinner can continue smoking up.
Is there anything else I can do for you guys right now?

He's really a gangstalking VICTIM, not a gangstalkER. Just sayin'.
it was late and i was tired.
Indeed, ironically, the "targets" end up being the ones doing the actual gangstalking.
Until he has a DOHS GangStalk card, I refuse to see him as a peer.

Meds are just another form of what they consider long-term "off site" care.
I'm convinced that the town I used to live in has become a haven for folks put in this same situation.
