I love that they slip in a reference to Ernest, somehow linking this mundane friendship to the universe of the Ernest movies. That makes me really want to see these two end up on death row.
Point of order: It's "wacky," not "whacky." The former implies humorous shenanigans, whereas the latter makes one expect that someone will bludgeon someone else... which would have been a better movie, really.
