Name-dropping "Magnetic Rose" is my litmus test for how shitty or non-shitty a person's taste in anime is.

It was directed by Kōji Morimoto, scripted by Satoshi Kon and based on an idea by Katsuhiro Otomo. Basically as close to a dream team as an anime production can get. I love it.

Don't forget Magnetic Rose's soundtrack was composed by Yoko Kanno - the primary influence being Madame Butterfly.

Five stars for Magnetic Rose - arguably the best piece of anime under 60 minutes, if not one of the best period.

The rest of the movie was fairly unmemorable though.
