I am TOTALLY getting a gang tattoo across my forearms that reads EVIL EDUCATORS in Gothic letters. It'll look real bitchin' in the teachers' lounge.

THA SUGAH RAIN - 2012-03-10

If your forearm is wide enough to fit "evil educators" then maybe we should end this now and schedule you a doctor's appointment.

The Mothership - 2012-03-10

down my forearms then? jeez Sug, since when are you the grammar police.

Accidie - 2012-03-10

I always thought "sped" was British slang.

fulakarp - 2012-03-10

Is that JFK in the sky at 0:09?

Ursa_minor - 2012-03-10

Goddamnit, I think so.

Prickly Pete - 2012-03-10

Wow Captain Planet was pretty hardcore for it's time and audience. I should've watched it more often. Sure it sucks, but every children's show sucked at that time to some degree. At least in this one people get shot.

2:18 - Shaggy and Velma, on campus investigating unrelated mummy attacks in the cafeteria.

That has to be deliberate. Some animator just had his day made by the internet.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2012-03-10

Someone on Facebook recently made this viral thing that pointed out the kids from Magic School Bus are all just younger versions of the Planeteers. Animators steal from each other all the time.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2012-03-10

Also, god damn would someone just let Wheeler make out with Linka for once? Every time he tries to get some he's cockblocked by the fucking Earth.

kingarthur - 2012-03-10

That made my morning.

Dr. Lobotomy - 2012-03-10

The illustrated Magic School Bus books were published in the mid-80's with most of the cast's general appearances set, only the mexican boy and black girl were added later. Captain Planet began in 1990.

Though both series did some time traveling I guess...

We never saw the prequel to this episode, where the Educators wiped out Fat Albert's gang.

Socialist Commie Marxist Liberal Democrat Racist Fascist Pedophile Gay Muslim Goddamn Propaganda gets five stars!

dairyqueenlatifah - 2012-03-10

Can you imagine if this show was on today?

Hell half the shows I grew up watching in the 90s were LIBERAL INDOCTRINATING PROPAGANDA by Fox and Friends' standards. But Captain Planet is like, the king of them. Some episodes are like "Oh yeah, we went THERE."

Wander - 2012-03-10

5 stars for all he sad, disapproving looks on the posters.

bopeton - 2012-03-10

Evil Educators? Really?

Where's the Time Cube guy when you need him?

PlushJake - 2012-03-10

My father didn't like us watching Captain Planet because it was "part of Ted Turner's pagan scheme."

dairyqueenlatifah - 2012-03-10

My foster mother said it was satanic.

Caminante Nocturno - 2012-03-14

Nothing says gang violence like tense violin music coupled with an atonal saxophone.

I think I heard some steel drums in there, too.
