there is nothing i find compelling at all about just "a lot of young rich girls in nyc." this is basically like, the cast of gossip girl starts listening to death cab in college and this is them six years later.

It's hard to come up with interesting female characters in fiction. Women usually have little to nothing interesting to say, and this show is written by a woman.

i thought i saw some strong, deep, well characterized woman protagonists in that Brilliantly Written Social Crime Drama Set in Baltimore but i guess i was seeing things.
