Yeah, he said it in a breathy whisper, as clear as day. The guy was a racist, and other racists are the only ones who will defend him. There's no reason why this guy should be walking free after murdering with intent. In court they will find his method of "self-defense" inproportionate to any force the kid could have reasonably used. Well, he could have choked him with the Skittles.
