I like the part about Eddie Fitzgerald's ceaseless toadying to John K, even after being fired and abused multiple times. He's like an anal wart of animation.
I'm surprised I liked this. I usually hate everything John K. was ever involved with but this was perfectly suitable for kids. I wonder why they didn't make more...did John K. just alienate everyone involved? It seems like a pretty simple cartoon to write for.
My favorite parts are the little things. The constant puns. How the villain's bongo runs are an octave lower for no reason. The fact that Cecil is constantly extending from one of the edges of the frame no matter what the situation is.
I had this taped on VHS and used to watch the shit outta this as a kid. All I had left was vague memories of the alphabet soup river and the villain's laugh.
