The Mothership - 2012-05-08 I debated submitting this, but ultimately decided in favor for 2 reasons. 1, it is amazing that there were any survivors, and 2, the criminal negligence of the tug operator who was pushing the barge. Yes, people died here. But people also died in the Challenger disaster.

fedex - 2012-05-08 it is morbidly fascinating in the way a car accident is, but the empathic part of myself just doesn't like watching other people die...or maybe it just reminds me to much of my own mortality

simon666 - 2012-05-08 A hermeneutic point: We don't see anyone die, any "figures" die, or anything of the sort. We see a barge hit a duck boat and a number of people swim to the pier.
We presume we death because it is reported that two people died and we watched the event of the barge hitting the duck boat, which is a pretty intense scene. But we do not see people die explicitly.
I'm not saying the accident isn't tragic, it is. But as a matter point, there is no death in this video. At best I think we can say this video suggests or hints at deaths that did occur.
