One of things I loved about News Radio was the clever way in which they would occasionally veer into totally retarded, atypical sitcom world and do it in such a way so as to nod to the audience "look how stupid we're being" and still have it actually work.

NewsRadio's fifth season gave me the ability to just not consider things canon, which was invaluable for the Star Wars prequels.
