So it's like Gunsmith Cats without the cats. At least the end was sort of interesting.

Kenichi Sonoda was working on Riding Bean as a proposed anime series, but only one episode was produced. It features Bean Bandit and Rally Vincent (though she's blonde and fair-skinned here). After the series fell through, he went on to do Gunsmith Cats (as a manga first and then a short OAV), and Bean was a regular supporting cast member.

And that's your anime neckbeard history lesson for today!

Wow. And here I thought all of anime was completely original.

I saw a GITS scene and with the bullets eating at the wall...and Riding Bean looks a lot like Figure Four from Alita...

My comment didn't show up along with my stars for some reason, so I'll say it again: teenage me loved this. Gunsmith cats, too.

Not as good as Gunsmith Cats, still 5 stars.
