This movie played theaters and drive-in for years, well-into the 80's. Sometime in the seventies, I was maybe fifteen, and I saw this very same trailer at a second-run theater along with a trailer for NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD that featured graphic scenes of cannibalism, and a naked zombie chick. I was there with my parents watching some seventies action movie, quite possibly starring Charleton Heston. My mind was blown. I desperately wanted to see this movie, but I didn't even bother to ask. The kid in my class who did see the movie described every nasty scene with what would later turn out to be accuracy worthy of a journalist.

I wouldn't see Blood Feast until many years later on video, but in college, I would go expecting to see another movie on Campus and be surprised by 2000 MANIACS. (the University Newspaper had gotten it wrong). THAT was a hell of a surprise!

My favorite bit of sleaze from HG Lewis wasn't any of his "horror" movies but the "ripped from the headlines"-esque tacky exploitation fest "Suburban Roulette" from 1968 or 9, which was all about that swinging and wife-swapping business people had maybe heard about, complete with a sleazy lounge music opening titular song that's equally skin-crawlingly lecherous and laughable
