I read an article in which someone theorized that the people behind this hated it. I was reminded about how the guy behind Bubsy 2 hated Bubsy (true story). And then I remembered something someone once wrote: development of new installments of franchises should be headed by people who hate them, so they'll be motivated to make them better. My conclusion: the person who wrote that does not understand the nature of human hatred.

Sanest Man Alive I'm certain it's the exact same group behind the fuckawful Street Fighter cartoon that also ran on the USA network around the same time. Maybe even the same team responsible for the equally fuckawful Double Dragon cartoon that aired before those, but that seems too convenient, or monstrous, depending on how you see it.
