It took me a good long time to figure out that the text is describing the character, not the author.

It's both. The character is the author's fantasy version of her own life.

Like countless lonely cat women before her, the author has written a Mary Sue self-insert fanfiction where she gets married and laid. The difference is this one wants to be paid for it.
