Jesus Christ this was painful. The acting, the dialog, the show's premise, the unfunny attempts at humor, everything. Maybe I just forgot what a sitcom is supposed to be, since I haven't watched once since the 90s.
Oh well, at least even though it's a modern sitcom, they don't go the Big Bang Theory/Two and a Half Men route with the "POP CULTURE REFERENCE WITH NO ACTUAL JOKE : LAUGH TRACK" formula. I gotta give them credit for that.

John Holmes Motherfucker They've pared that down to a simple NO ACTUAL JOKE formula. As much as I enjoy the show, I always expect it to be cancelled at any moment.

John Holmes Motherfucker Just barely. Lately, the dialogue has been peppered with Arrested Development style in-jokes about how they're about to be cancelled, but like "30 Rock" and "Community", they've been granted a half season next year.
