I'm glad they set me straight. Settled my proverbial hash, pardon the expression.

To a layman, it might seem as though science has achieved a more accurate and complete understanding of climate change since 1974, but expert climatologists such as Penn and Teller know better than to doubt the authority of such a renowned and respected peer-reviewed scientific journal as Time Magazine.
The problem is it's a shitty argument to begin with.
Most climate scientists back then were predicting warming. Time magazine isn't science.

Penn is a good example of what a lifetime of sobriety will do to you
Nonsense; I've known a fair share of addicts in my time and I can smell an oil junkie a mile off. Most craven addicts on the face of the planet. They'd pimp their own grandmothers for a tank of the stuff. Trying to reason with them on this point is like butting your head against a brick wall.
I think it's largely being understood now that the only solution to this problem is though a disruptive technology. The real question is not whether such a technology exists. It does. It's whether all of you will accept it. If history is any guide, this is far from a sure thing.
Also a lifetime of Las Vegas buffet food.
Penn is a good example of why libertarians should never be taken seriously.
*slow clap rising to standing o for O* very apt... but I just remember him raving and bragging on WTF about how he's literally never touched a drop of alcohol, and i thought "yes. you were also the one who reminded the teacher to give us homework, prick."

The oldest climate change warning I've seen was from 1955. Greed and politics have been planning the mass death of humans for that long.

"Al Gore uses 20 times more electricity than the average American."
HOW CAN YOU SAY GLOBAL WARMING ISN'T A HOAX AFTER HEARING THAT!?!?!
Pfft, you don't even need to watch that far. Some dumb hippie thinks it's true and a guy with a journalism degree thinks it's a hoax. Case closed.

I hate Teller the most.
Teller has at least one redeeming quality: That zombie short film he made.
When Teller speaks, people want to hear it.
I don't like how he pretends to be this harmless eccentric, and in reality he's a goose stepping nazi libertarian just like his fat friend. I can't wait for the episode of Bullshit where they "debunk" the holocaust, and you get to see Teller comically pretending to roll into a mass grave.

I used to think libertarians were cool, and then I thought they were at least consistent, but I'm tired of one arrogant asshole after another bragging about how their philosopy is based on "reason" and "facts", while being about as intellectually rigorous as a bowl of clam chowder. You rosy scenarios about how everything will work out if we just do nothing ARE NOT FACTS. They are speculation, no matter how much thought you've put into them. Only things that have actually happened count as "facts".
