I've lurked here for a while (also had a former username), and I've seen support pop up from time. What's the deal there? In what way is he/she affiliated with Chet?

That is a question that many people would like an answer to.

In summary:
Support is a person (or persons) who have been given moderation control over this site and, at one time, POEN by Chet who now no longer cares about the sites apparently. Judging from the events that happened on POEN prior to its closing, Support is very likely a former user (or users) who somehow negotiated becoming a sysop behind the scenes without any of us having a say in it.
POETV moderates itself for the most part, so we have yet to see any real trouble here really.

There was a dustup a while back when support came in, claimed he/she/it was a different support than the one on Poe News (what?!), and then banned some of poeTV's most prolific and most well-liked users while demanding that poeTV wouldn't wind up like Poe News.

That said, there are a number of people who have just vanished from poeTV because of silent bannings from whoever-the-fuck. j lzrd / swift idiot (might be part of the News thing), Cleaner82, Magical Man from Happy-Land, oogaBooga, RomancingTrain, thebaronsdoctor, socialist_hentai, thebaronsdoctor, etc. It's a pretty fun game when you go to an old video and see a username you remember and click on it to see if they just stopped posting or were banned for some strange reason.

I was never an active poster on Poe News, but I saw the whole thing happen and it's fascinating. I would love, now that the whole thing is long over, to just have an open conversation with support about everything.
