The actor who played "Captain Joe" in the series the Fugitive Alien "movies" were recut from is Jô Shishido, recognizable by his round cheeks, the result of some plastic surgery he had done back in the 50s, who has appeared in many Japanese films and TV shows. Including Seijun Suzuki's "Branded to Kill" as well as Suzuki's "Youth of the Beast" and "Detective Bureau Two-Three: Go to Hell, Bastards". "Gate of Flesh".
Plus I just happened to be watching the "Nikkatsu Noir" boxset from Criterion recently and Shishido starred in two of the films, "Cruel Gun Story" and "A Colt is My Passport".

StanleyPain Actually, this raises an interesting argument. Fugitive Alien was shown in the KTMA days so IS it technically the oldest movie with a running gag?
