Also: I am just now getting into actually watching this show past the first few episodes and it is has to be the strangest cartoon I have EVER seen.

IMO, Adventure Time was at its best in the first 2 seasons.
The plots and characters had less substance then in later seasons, and thats to be expected, but the earlier ones just settle better with me.

Not that I dont enjoy the hell out of the new episodes.
Now and then the new ones put heavy emphasis on personal psychological issues that some of the more prominent characters deal with, but I think its great that kids learn that life isnt a cartoon all the time.

The second season was the worst one, and not by a small amount. That's a pretty widely-held view and I agree. Three was as good as one and four is the best so far. You're probably just getting burned out or something.
