Saw this last weekend.
Those weren't even the most cliched parts.
I'm guessing these movies don't cost that much to make, and the franchise's name is helping a lot here. Which just shows that many fans of the games and fans of lame action movies, are very easy to please.
Someone mentioned that they do well overseas. My theory is the less a movie needs dialog for you to figure out what's going on, the better it'll do in other countries. Does the translation suck? Who cares? It's like complaining about the dialog in a porno.
The audiences just want a spectacle.

Okay, so the Resident Evil film's aren't exactly Critereon-worthy. I still think that the second one, Apocalypse, was a half ton of explosive, zombie-killing fun.
Does anyone else feel like putting on their REEBOKS and taking a stroll down to GAMESTOP?
no stars until they'reforyou comes in here and drops like 15 paragraphs on you haters
I don't really have a problem with people hating this fluff. I'm just a stickler for details with a lot of free time on my hands.
But, I don't want to disappoint! Someone espouse some ill-informed, misconceived plot points they heard from a banal online film reviewer or derived from their own short attention spans while sitting in the theatre in a foggy haze of booze and pot, and I'll offer up another 10 to 20 paragraphs.
I saw the first Resident Evil when I was living in Mexico. The only other people in the theater with me was a family of five, including a baby. Surprisingly, the children were all perfectly well-behaved during the film. However, right at the end, just before the credits started rolling, the baby soiled its diapers and filled the theater with an unbelievable stench.
So, all I remember from the Resident Evil films is the stink of baby poop, and I think that's the only appropriate way to think of them.
CJH, I've left you some new easter eggs in the comment section for the Afterlife clip.
CJJ & they'reforyou need to get a damn room. Point out the inconsistencies in that! I'm too busy being a hipster pot smoker.
