jangbones O'Reilly used to be at the leading edge of the cranky old white man demographic. But he stayed put as the rest of Fox and their right wing competitors surpassed him on the crazytrain to Extremistville.
Most importantly, he genuinely engages with people of other ideological viewpoints than his. So Bill O'Reilly didn't change, but he is now a voice of what passes as moderate Republicanism these days.
