Sure, but then we wouldn't have ballerinas after a bit.

I ain't saying I agree, but the level of technical proficiency and soul-crushing dementia required to be a top-tier ballerina pretty much requires some form of childhood trauma.

Proper dance lessons start absolutely no later than age 3.

These children are far too young to even be able to really absorb anything meaningful. Lessons at this age are fine as long as they emphasize fun and don't push the children too hard. I think it's fine though to wait till they're eight or nine to start them though, because at least at that age they've developed fine motor skills.
