They talk about the media a great deal on this podcast, but this is fascinating. They go through a lot of subjects. This is long but it is totally worth watching/listening to.

I listened for six minutes and it was all this guy calling me a fuckhead and telling me to buy shit.
Wait, isn't this that same asshole who used to yell at women while they tried to force-feed themselves boiled horse rectums on "Fear Factor"?
Rodents of Unusual Size
Binro - for you, I will outline a list of topics they discuss
global warming vs religious zealotry
Afghanistan and the heroin problem
psychopathic behavior in the corporate world
The Patriot Act and NDAA
That's in the first hour. They make the connections between media being owned by only a few corporations and what that will mean in the future, and what it means when they are owned by people the government is contracting. There is a lot of really relevant discussion here.
Rodents of Unusual Size
also he is really gung ho lately about debunking the ancient aliens theories, which makes me love him a lot
Rogan is an average host, but he occasionally covers some good topics

Joe Rogan got my little brother to care about civil liberties violations. For that alone, five stars.

I had to look for more on that "drones have a 2% success rate" thing, because I can't let that shit go and it sounded like a candy number so sweet even I couldn't believe it.
So RT chick says drones have a 2% success rate, that it's killing civilians 98% of the time. So I search for that number and find...
The above says that 2% of the drone program's kills are militant leaders, and they cite this...
Which says that the 2% is civilian casualties. So in two recountings, we have completely swapped the numbers on militant to civilian kills with a tangent in the middle.
So, I suppose my point is, holy fuck have these numbers been passed around like a cheap whore to everyone with an agenda and back again.
What also gets me is that the sources for this shows some incredibly horrific civilian casualties in the past, but those aren't mentioned two whorins' down the line, because they were never seen.
they touch on the current "double tap" doctrine, in which today's drone attacks in Afghanistan and Pakistan immediately follow a first strike with an identical second strike to specifically target first responders
seems almost unthinkable, but this is confirmed as an official tactic used by the military
Yeah, I'm an awful person, but at least I took the time to invalidate my own beliefs. I admit under Obama drones are used more intelligently and kill far less people. I doubt you watched the video or visited my links, but I set out to show the RT chick was full of shit, which she is. In fact, this is a video full of truthers talking all sorts of crazy shit, I really didn't need to bother.
"i set out to confirm my own biases, and i have!"

The great thing about the Joe Rogan podcast is he is willing to admit he is wrong if evidence presents itself. He also interviews people on the basis of getting to know what they're about, like Alex Jones, but he will vehemently disagree with Alex on many subjects.
The truth is, truthers and Alex Jones do have concerns about very real subjects in the news media and report on them when the bulk of the media refuses to. The problem with this is they often twist real news stories that are underreported to meet the criteria for an explanation born in paranoid conspiracy fantasy, and this complicates the dire reality of privacy and civil rights issues by associating them with people who are fringe and make accusations with no merit (ie about the Illuminati etc).
Regarding the drone strikes, I really wouldn't be surprised if neither o those figures is accurate. I think they are probably killing a LOT more civilians than they are admitting to, but it probably isn't as high as RT is reporting. I just don't like the drone strike program at all, I think it's highly fucked up and inhuman and the fact that Obama jokes about it sickens me and leads me to believe he's just one more psychopathic piece of garbage.
That double tap thing is stupendously fucking war crime goddamned Hague worthy evil, by the way.
I think it's important to point out that this administration considers all young men in the vicinity of these drone strikes to be "militants", so it's likely impossible to get a trustworthy account of civilian deaths.
Militant or not, how many of these people that we are killing actually pose a real threat to the citizens of the mainland US? How many wouldn't be "militant" at all if we had not just spent a decade occupying their country?
Thank you crackersmack. That was incredibly relevant. (you also beat me to it).

I used to think Rogan was nothing but a meathead and shitty stand up comic, but over the past couple years I have completely changed my opinion. He can be a little flaky on some things, and still a little "bro-ish", but his podcast show covers some pretty interesting shit, while also being pretty funny.
He has his moments, but he is very susceptible to all sorts of quackery and ridiculousness (dude loves hyperbaric chambers and once flirted with the idea of purchasing one of those ionizing power bracelets).

The Joe Rogan Experience is one of my top favorite podcasts. I would have never imagined that the host of Fear Factor and the MMA announcer would open up my mind the way he does.

Is this guy still a crazy moon-landing denier?
