Baz Luhrmann fucking owns, and using 3d in a story about extravagant, conspicuous displays as entertainment is gatdam brilliant.

Binro the Heretic - 2012-11-06
My sophomore english lit teacher was crazy for the novel. She even got together every year with a bunch of other Gatsby fans for a big Gatsby party where they all wore 1920s era clothes, danced to a live orchestra and had dinner in a big art deco bedecked hall.
I wonder if she'll see this movie and what she thinks of it...presuming she's still alive, of course. If she is, she's at least 80, now.

Visually it looks great, no question about that, but i couldn't care one bit about the cast.

I will see this, but Tobey Maguire seems like an odd choice

Riskbreaker - 2012-11-07 That's because he's a terrible actor and has no business working in movies at all. He looks out of place everywhere.

Jet Bin Fever - 2012-11-07
Far too colorful and exciting to match the tone of the novel.

Hammer Falls - 2012-11-08
So much for saying goodbye to the Red Curtain-style of direction, eh Baz? "Australia" hurt that much, I guess.
