"I believe in God, and God is gonna make sure Romney wins."

Yeah, good luck with that.

Serious deja vu listening to that lady talk. My grandmother is pretty much a carbon copy of her, just with a Scottish accent.

"Who are 'them?'" "Oh, I don't... What, the... Buddhists."

Jesus Christ.

TeenerTot - 2012-11-05

The deja vu is cuz this was on the front page a few days ago.

The God of Biscuits - 2012-11-05

And how the hell is God going to do that exactly? Is he gonna stuff the ballot box, or just violate peoples' free will and guide their hand to push the Mitt Romney button?

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2012-11-05

The right wing really needs to lose the religious nuts. They're the one calling Obama a "messiah," and they've got this weird concept that somehow God put Bush in the White House, but not Obama, even if he's all-powerful and can pick the president.

Why bother with democracy at all, Christians? If Gawd is in charge and all...

The God of Biscuits - 2012-11-05

I can't wait until all these old, ignorant bastards finally die off and we as a country can move on from this sort of stupidity.

Sanest Man Alive - 2012-11-05

"Die off"? I'm sorry, did you miss all the twentysomething chucklefucks chortling about how Romney's gonna GIT IT DUN, whatever the fuck IT is?

We're not going to just magically all get enlightened and "move on" from ignorant people being fed a bunch of scare-mongering bullshit so the guy telling it can take power and do whatever he fucking wants before anyone's the wiser. We haven't moved on for centuries.

Bort - 2012-11-05

At the same time, there is a genuine crisis in evangelical circles because the young aren't biting like they used to. Young folks simply aren't interested in the Culture Wars the way older generations are, in fact they're seriously put off by it.

Plus demographics are seriously working against the White Race right now.

We're not going to be free of right wing dipshits any time soon, but they are having trouble holding on.

Old_Zircon - 2012-11-05

There are enough PUA wannabes and Call Of Duty players to make up for the generation that's going away.

Old_Zircon - 2012-11-05

On the other hand, what Bort said. On the other other hand, I don't know about now but a few years ago (pre Obama) Christian Rock was absolutely huge, and I'm not sure if the decrease in visibility has more to do with its popularity waning again or more to do with the fact that it and screamo have become almost synonymous at this point. Though who listens to screamo anymore?

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2012-11-05

My brother in law, who's younger than I am, and who used to be a fairly reasonable fellow for living in Missouri, has started down the road to Republicanism. He spent a goodly amount of time bitching about how welfare is a drain on our economy (his wife works in an ER and is aghast at how many people come there for "free" health care). I pointed out that while he was complaining, oil companies alone just sucked up thousands in taxpayer-funded subsidies, but no, it's the poor getting painkillers, antibiotics, and having bones set that are the real problem.

I don't foresee us having a lot to talk about over the holidays much anymore.

klingerbgoode - 2012-11-05

His father was a muslim and an athiest!

and meat loaf why :(

Old_Zircon - 2012-11-05

Name one thing Meatloaf has done since Bat Out Of Hell. Not one GOOD thing, one thing period. I know I can't think of anything.

STABFACE - 2012-11-05

He was in Fight Club, the film currently first place in the running for the "Has Not Aged Well" award.

Unrelated: One star for dupin'.

Quad9Damage - 2012-11-05

Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny?

klingerbgoode - 2012-11-06

I don't even really like Meat Loaf at all! But it's just odd to imagine somebody who was in Rocky Horror to support Romney

Syd Midnight - 2012-11-09

Well Mr. Loaf was on that reality show where he threw a screaming violent accusatory tantrum over a bag of arts & crafts supplies that really hurt Gary Buseys feelings. Creating a celebrity incident where Gary Busey is the innocent, relaxed, aggrieved party is a noteworthy feat, I guess.

It takes a lot of hard work and talent to be that big of an asshole.

chumbucket - 2012-11-05

What's Romney's plan?

He's just, umm I dunno..for all classes and stuff. Jobs.

Old_Zircon - 2012-11-05

Hey, I submitted this like two days ago with the same title and most of the same tags.

Hooker - 2012-11-05

AH has to stay ahead of you in submissions somehow.
