I'm going to assume you've never actually seen/heard David Cross doing stand up because, like him or not, smug is like the least applicable term.

I don't think he's "allowed" to do his best work in most movies, TV, etc. He's at his best doing standup with loads of swears and offensive material, pretty much. Trying to do sketch comedy isn't his strong suit, and they keep casting him in movies (kids movies, for chrissakes) because... I dunno. "They say he's funny and the kids love him" or some bullshit.

Still, I'd rather watch Cross than Sandler.

Mr. Show was the only thing I've seen him be really funny in, although not nearly as funny as Bob Odenkirk.

I'd rather watch Odenkirk than Cross.

He's a total bitch. He's a bitter, horrible asshole. I've seen him live, he a small, horrible, bitter little man. He is probably one of the most evil junkie comedians in America. He makes me feel normal and for that reason I can never repay him.

Never angered me. Never watched it, I'm not a kid anymore.

Tobias F�nke & his time on Mr. Show secured Cross' position as a top comedian in my book.

Humor is subjective. I've never once heard Cross say anything remotely funny. Ever.

He's like Carlos Mencia without the Mexican jokes.
